People Have The Wrong Image of Activism and Hacktivism Group Anonymous

Many people these days look at the Hacktivist group Anonymous with the wrong looks, but many rumours are wrong.

Many people think that Anonymous followers are just 14 year old kids who live in their parents basement searching Google for the latest hacking techniques; while hacking any weak business site just for fun. Others think that Anonymous is a group of Computer Geniouses that go around hacking websites and stealing peoples personal data and sharing them with the world.

No. Anonymous is not an invite only group; their is no leader. Anonymous cannot be defined by a description, since anyone and everyone can join Anonymous. Anonymous seems to fight for freedom and rights of the people. They are not a bunch of computer hackers that hack whoever they have to, to get their own way. They are freedom of information, and fight for it too, and use hacking as a tool to free information that should be free in the first place. Not for fun, and the majority of Anonymous don't even hack. They just spread the latest information that isn't poisoned by todays media. Most operations that Anonymous conduct day to day are protests to keep some sort of information free, and keep privacy on the Internet at it's prime, and keep censorship low. Everything that you see on television or related media releasing something evil Anonymous is doing, was poisoned. Anonymous may do some things to disturb the public, but it's helping a positive, greater cause to the world, and is just part of the problem to find a bigger and better solution. Anonymous has reunited many families and groups just of the goodness of their hearts. Anonymous has started up closed cases for lost family members, and helped find the missing person in the case, just because the skills and goodness Anonymous holds.

Anonymous is a group of people of large size that want to change the world that everyone SHOULD have rights in, and can ENJOY! They want to keep the peace in this corrupted world, where governments control all! I am in no way bringing this speech from the point of view of a supporter of Anonymous (I do Support Anonymous) I am bringing this for the people that still think Anonymous are bad people. The point of view is coming from a common citizen of the world, that watches the news daily after dinner, and in the morning.

Anonymous has made mistakes in their past, but they have formed this far as the love machine and authority of the Internet. They wipe Pedophile sites from the Internet, in no aggression. They wipe racist and sexist sites from the dark corners of the internet to keep it pure and free. They want to keep the internet free and make sure the world is informed! Anonymous isn't what you think it is or what the media says about them. They are people too, but fighting for our rights! Anonymous has been peaking headlines almost every week since the beginning of this year, and none of the stories are negative. They have reunited families that have been apart for long periods of time, they have helped find suspects to large amounts of crimes lately, and they have gotten the privacy hindering bill CISPA VETO'd by President Barack Obama! Before you hear something about Anonymous on the news in the coming months and scowl them, think about the things they have helped the world with. They -- No. -- We have done more good than bad (our sour past) so far, and are helping fix the world one step at a time. People cannot kill an idea. I am proud to say I am an Anonymous Supporter.

Anonymous Brothers and Sisters reading this, please share this with the public to get this out! People need to know that we are not the people they think we are! We just want freedom and our rights!

Please give suggestions to add to this article, as I would love to improve this article about Anonymous! We are Legion. United as one, divided by zero.

CISPA Was Passed BLACKOUT (Monday, April 22nd, 2013)

Please, If you read any article on my blog read this one.

If you want to keep your Facebook data to yourself, and keep what YouTube videos and Google searches you have watched and done private? Your not alone. I'm pretty sure everyone on the internet wants to keep their own information private from anyone they can. But now that CISPA has passed, the governments don't need a warrant to see any of this information, and no warning of them doing so.

I don't want to get into details, because I know I will end up starting a big rant about how the Internet was invented and what it was intended for.

Anyways, since CISPA was passed, the internet has been brewing up a storm. Anonymous and reddit users are furious. And the IDL and many other Internet censory sites. Which lead to another Internet blackout.

This blackout will take place on the 22nd of this month (April, 2013) and last 24 hours. Most sites are already planning a back up plan to keep the sites visitors away from the content to show what it would be like if the Internet was censored as much as it will be if CISPA passes. If you cannot stand this as much as me, and the rest of the Internet surfers do, please do some simple Google searches about the topic of CISPA. Find as many petition sites as you can and sign them, we need as many people as we can! The reason I am not supplying a simple link to go sign, is because you should look around for yourself, and see the posts in between the petitions, showing how CISPA will ruin our privacy!

Please support us! We need to stop CISPA!!!!

If you have any questions or comments, feel free to comment them below and I will answer them as best I can.

We Would Like to Apologize To The Families and Friends of The Victims of The Boston Marathon Attack

I'm sorry for not creating a post about this, and sorry for talking in first person, as I don't per usual. But it needs to happen for this post. The reason for not creating a post about it is because I would not want to get into detail, because it is deeply disturbing, and don't think I could write about it without putting me into a dark mood. But anyways, I will continue on what I would like to say.

I am truly and deeply sorry for the grief and pain that the victims, and the victims family and friends, are going through and/or went through. I hope you the best in the future, and I hope everything goes well in the coming days as the news teams and investigators get more news about what happened. Keep your head up, everything will get better. You have support of all over the world! If you don't believe me, look at this post. The attack happened in the United States. This post and most of the future posts are based in Canada, as well as the MadChatr offices. The news came on about 1 hour after the event to the far west of Canada. That truly should speak for itself, since the news station is Canadian based, and rarely covers United States stories. I am also deeply sorry for the people that were close to the deceased. This event is the most revolting thing I have heard about for an act of terrorism. The suspect/ bomber had no reason to harm this event. It was about fun and happiness and running. People screaming, laughing, and having a good time, they had NO reason to go through this and kill innocent people.

As I said, I will not go into details about the event. If you would like to learn more, you can click here for a link to a news story covering the details.

I hope we find out what happened on this dark day, and again my condolences, if you need to talk to someone, or need more information, or just have something to say. Leave a comment, and I will reply as needed.

Google's Hilarious April Fools Jokes Revealed

We all know that Google has a hilarious past for April fools jokes and scaring people out of their wits with some of them. A great example of this was this years April Fools, when they made a quite convincing video about YouTube closing down, which we will explain more later. The other 3 (major) April fools jokes were:

GMail Blue:
Probably the the most simple joke they did this year, but the most traditional and relating to April fools:
Google made a very serious video (in the beginning) that they were going to "revamp" GMail. By this they mean... Well... Making everything blue. No more other colours of GMail, besides to tint of blue. The video is quite convincing to the non-jokester portion of the population, but all in all, it's pretty funny. Here's a link to the page for GMail Blue.

Google Nose:
Probably the most funny in my opinion, really in the April Fools spirit. Welcome to Google Nose...
Google was saying that they are adding a whole new feature to their search function, as well as a new app for all the handheld devices. It was said that the app could "smell" things and search for them on Google. With their huge nose-base! I think this is the most funny joke, but not the biggest, which brings us to the most major April Fools joke Google has pulled this year.

YouTube's Picking The Winner Joke:
As you may have heard by probably everyone you know that uses the computer, YouTube "is closing".

Yes, it honestly made us all laugh listening to the whiny people complaining about YouTube closing, as well as a few of them freaking out. And one thing before we continue, some people still think YouTube will close, and those people are wrong. The video was posted on April 1st, and inside the video, it said that YouTube is closing at midnight tonight... And it is now April 12th when writing this article. YouTube is not going anywhere, especially when Google makes almost half of their money from YouTube.
Well, that covers all of the Major April Fools jokes Google had this year. Here are a few more that we won't cover in detail, but they still happened, but they were not that big:

- Google Fiber Bar : Spoof of Google's high speed free Internet, now translated into a "Fiber Bar"

If you know of any more pranks or jokes Google did this year, please comment them, as we will add them to the list.

Looking forward to what Google has planned next year!

How To Make an Awesome Minecraft Bukkit Plugin

As the "How to make an awesome Minecraft Server" post on the Minecraft forum has gotten a bit more popular, we had some suggestions, and this was one of them.
We will teach you how to make a good Bukkit plugin. Please note that this tutorial only helps you create a good plugin in our eyes, and we have worked with and made dozens of plugins. So our opinion might help you out quite a bit. If you are looking for a list of good plugins to find for a server, and not how to make a plugin well, please stay tuned for a post telling you what the best plugins are for each type of server (Creative, PVP, Economy, Semi Vanilla, Role Playing, Events, and/or Adventure maps).
Now onto the part about learning how to create a good plugin:

First:
Get an idea for what your plugin will do and be about. If your not sure, try searching around a bit. Lots of people in the Minecraft community are looking for a custom/ new plugin for their server. If you want a different idea. Ask me in the comments and I will try to give you a suggestion!

On to the procedure!!!!
*NOTE:* WE ARE NOT SHOWING YOU HOW TO MAKE A PLUGIN. This article is assuming you already know how to make plugins, and work with Java. This is just giving plugin developers some ideas and/ or suggestions for the plugins they already have, or are planning on making.

1. Name your plugin:
Pick a small but original title for your plugin. You want one that catch the eye of server owners, but nothing that sounds like other plugins in the category that your plugin fits. For example, if your making a Server Economy plugin, don't make it sound like iConomy or Boseconomy. Try something that doesn't end with "Conomy" like a lot of other economy plugins do. We do agree that it does make the plugin more self explanatory, but it's no longer very original. Find another way to make it obvious on what it does; but nothing like the others. For example you could use jMoney; j for the first letter of the author of this post's name, and money to keep it away from the other plugins that end with the common "Conomy". If your satisfied with your plugin title, continue onto the next step.

2. Base lining code:
Start writing some of the code for your plugin, just the outline. What we mean by outline is; write the code that can make the plugin work, but nothing more, make it do what you wanted it to do when you got the idea for it. Once you think your finishing up, compile your code and run it on a testing server, and test out all the functions and commands for the plugin, checking for errors inside the console and in game if you specified it in your plugins code.

3. Making your plugin BETTER
Finally we reached the part of the article where we learn how to make the plugin BETTER.

A.) Making a user configuration file:
Every server owner loves to make the plugins they install trace back to the server. Whether the functions and commands echo with a starting prefix they can customise or the whole echo they can customise, so they can replace it with their own wording, or even language. No server owner likes when a plugin that smears its logo all over the command output or chat output. If you want your plugin to be heard, put a command in the plugin that shows the plugin info, with version number and your name in it. If we install a plugin on our server, and they smear their logo all over it, we usually end up finding a less intrusive plugin. But if your plugin is good, and doesn't have branding, donate buttons, or authors names smothering it; most people will either look into the other plugins you have, or support you in some way. Our official server has an author plugin, which announces when one of our plugins authors join the server, and gives them certain items and permissions when they join the game, including all of the permissions for the plugin they made. (We made this, please don't ask for it). Moving onto more configuration; people want the most options possible in the written configuration file, leave the values or fields set in the config to be a reasonable amount for the average server (for those people that don't want to touch the config). If you don't know exactly what "give people the most options". It means let the end user have the most options to configure the plugin. Back to the example with the Economy plugin; a way you could give your users more option is by letting them edit the server name in the config, so when people do the command to see their balance, it could say at the top of the output "ExampleCraft Economy";. Also, you could make a feature where people can edit the money name. What I mean by that is, people can edit the output instead of "1000 dollars" they could do "1000 ExampleCraft Bucks". I hope that tells you a bit of what I mean. People like their own custom plugins that match their server. And the more options you give the user, the more people you can reach with the plugin

B) Most possible Commands:
Try to add every possible command to the plugin with the code you have made already, some people like simple plugins, but admins like a plugin that they can control in almost every aspect possible in game, no server owners likes logging into their console or editing files instead of typing a few things in In-Game chat, try not to give too many commands, just enough to make the players happy (Very few) and the admins happy (Commands to work the plugin, quite a bit more than player commands.)

C) Permissions
We all know that this may not be the easiest part of the plugin, but it will make a difference if your plugin is good in the eyes of the server owner and the people downloading your plugin, trust us. First make the permissions that would just relate to a OP and Non-Op system, so that people without a permissions plugin can use the plugin flawlessly. Give powerful commands to ops, and give the regular commands to players. Be careful though, some servers don't like players with some commands, so be quite restrictive on what you give players. Secondly, write the permission nodes for those server owners with permissions plugins. From experience, server owner don't like doing a whole lot of permissions, so if your plugin has lots of commands (Insane amounts) and a permission node for each, continue onto the next step. (Optional) Make some permission GROUPS. Not groups as in Admin, Moderator, or Owner. We mean groups like "ExampleCraft.player.help". This will give the server admins the ease of adding multiple permissions. For example: For some of the plugins we have made, we make default group permissions like ExampleCraft.player.help" , ExampleCraft.moderator.help , ExampleCraft.admin.help , ExampleCraft.donator.help. This means that all the permissions that a default player should have, should follow the format of "ExampleCraft.player.PermissionNodeHere , and all the moderator permissions should be "ExampleCraft.moderator.PermissionNodeHere .... etc.
This allows server owners to fine tune the permission to each group by adding them individually by adding for example "ExampleCraft.player.help" or just by giving all the suggested default permissions to the player group by adding the permission "ExampleCraft.player.*".  This may seem like a lot for you to do, but it saves the people downloading your plugin and having to do all the permissions, and makes for some love for your plugin :).

4. Publishing your plugin
Post your plugin! Try writing a very detailed and well planned description and help documents about the plugin and try posting the plugin. I don't post to other sites besides BukkitDev because they are the most full featured, and easy to use, and has a huge community behind it, for support. But feel free to post anywhere else you feel you should, since the more you post it, the more people likely to use it. And I say it again, most people lose people because of poor documentation. Write help documents, command lists, permission nodes, and other documents you would need related to the plugin.

5. (Optional) Updating and support
Most plugins that get constant updates and support from the developer team and/ or authors become quite popular, because they can rely on them staying around, and that when they encounter a problem or bug, it will be fixed sooner or later in the future updates.

Well, that seems like it for now. If you know a tip to make your plugin better, please comment it below and I will add it, or if you have questions, you can also comment and respond to it once I get the time.

Thanks for reading!

Welcome to my blog! (Late)

Hi everyone! I know this really isn't an intro anymore, since I have posted a few times already. But I would like to formerly add a better introduction to my blog than in my first. My names Jake. Or Jacob, but I really don't care which you call me, ill listen to both, but I do prefer Jake. I am an avid programmer in several languages, and I have a thing for computers with more than one monitor. I also like Minecraft on PC and FPShooters on PS3. I also am interested in hosting, servers, networking, and network security. So expect posts in the field to have a heavy opinion from my side. Other posts will just be a recap if I don't know the topic very well, and I will try my hardest to recap with every detail that is needed, while not forgetting to include anything. It is really not the easiest to recap a story in a shorter post, but include all the details. But I do try my best to keep the posts as frequent as I can, as I am busy and this blog isn't what I focus on. I would love to have this blog as my only place that I can write, but it is simply not as popular as it can be to keep me occupied on this. This is not the only blog I maintain, I have other blogs I post to and they are quite popular, so I keep those updated. Once this blog bypasses those blogs, I will take those posts of the other blogs, and post them here, and keep this blog updated daily.

This blog is mainly focused on tech, but occasionally contains the latest world news and things like that. I try to keep a balance. I hope in the future to blog about basically anything to reach across to a huge range of readers, to keep everyone pleased.

The blog/ my blog started out as just a gaming blog, keeping updates on basically Call of Duty and Minecraft. Then I extended to technology, keeping updates on the latest technology and inventions. Then we started to connect between technology and gaming, bringing in new consoles and gaming accessories, and how to run some cool technology with new games. Then it expanded to more and more games on more and more consoles. Then we expanded to current events. The blog now covers quite a large range of topics and we are always looking for more. I have had many ideas for what I can publish here, but I don't have enough time for it all. Once I start getting into blogging more seriously, and I get into my journalism degree, and actually have the time for all this, I will start blogging more and more often, with bigger and better topics.

So again, and in conclusion, thanks for reading up on my blog, every single one of you make me smile each day when I come onto my blog with new topics and when I write other articles content and edit them. I hope you enjoy my content thus far and in the future! Thanks to all of you for making my blog what it is today!

Bad News Google - Google Reader Edition

Well, there is some news for Google recently. And for most of us, not good news.

Google Shutting Down Google Reader:
Google announced March 15th that they are shutting down Google reader. This means that you will have to download all the subscriptions that you had in Google reader by going to the Google Takeout and downloading all your data. Google says that the reasoning behind shutting down this feature is that the usage of this service has been declining, and that they want to dedicate the power of the service to other products they offer that are popular. (Most likely YouTube, Gmail, Gtalk, and the Google Play Store). With that said, their are many other RSS readers out there, and Google is giving you the 3 month grace period to find another. I personally like using RSS reader software. But that's beyond the point.
One common misconception of Google closing the Reader platform is that Feedburner is going too. This is NOT true... For now. Because of the Google Reader platform closing, this may mean bad news for Feedburner. This is not for sure, since no actual statistics about the service are released, but it is a very similar platform, and has to appeal like other Google Applications, since it looks nothing like Google, and its not as visually appealing as services like Gmail, Google Code, or this platform for example. (Blogger) Which leads me to believe that Google is not putting any staff on it, since the launch of Google Plus. Which took most of the staff away from good products like Feedburner for example, and put them on teams in Google Plus.

My opinion of the Shutdown of Google Reader is that Google is making a bad and good decision, I don't know the details on how much resources Google Reader takes up, but I know that Google has more than 1 million servers at their disposal, but me learning the other day that just the user accounts for YouTube take up around 12 TB of data. And that was back in 2011 without the space taken up by the videos alone. So obviously, server space might be needed by Google. But I personally love Google with more and more products. I have signed up for every product Google has created. I would rather have slow Google products, than few Google products. Google is just making their fans mad.

Minecraft Realms

A very important update we missed in the latest update: (Play on words if you wish)

Not a very big improvement to this update, but will be in the future!

A big problem in today's Minecraft servers, besides the problems stated in my previous article that you can view here, is that a lot of the younger audience playing Minecraft have problems with facing some nasty things on public servers, like rude players, griefers, trolls, and other things that a younger Minecrafter should not face. So, when these kids got their own server, most of them had no idea how to use them, and had to get the parents to play admin for the server, and often annoyed the parents. So along awaiting the feature of Mojang Hosted servers. And they have considered it and are adding it in future updates!

A lucky few got their own Minecraft Realm when they logged into their client, the day of the update, which could hold 4 players. And you might be thinking "Why would Mojang create a whole new name for Minecraft servers and call it Minecraft Realms?" Well, they did this because of the fact that this is not an ordinary Minecraft server, they cannot have plugins installed (Yet) and no IP addresses. In order to connect to a friends server, they give you a code (Not an IP Address) and this allows you to connect to the realms of your friend or you own realm.

Mojang released this feature to help with monetizing the game further to make Mojang a bit more money essentially. This is also a long time request by many of the players, since the same reasons. Parents don't want to admin their kids Minecraft server when they are having problems. So they can pay a small amount of money to get their own worry free server from Mojang!

My Opinion:
I really think this idea is a giant cash cow, Mojang is really trying to suck a little bit more money from the Minecraft community. Although this is a great idea, I truly don't think Mojang is releasing this new feature for helping out the community and youth servers, they are only doing it because of the money that will come with it. If you look at the announcements by Carl Manneh, a lot of the description of the new feature was about how much the money would help Mojang out, and how it will make Mojang more money than the game itself made. So really, I think its a cash grab by Mojang, but overall great feature.

Minecraft Server Community Darkside / Mafia

Hey everyone, you may be confused by the title, but it will make sense in the end.

Back in the good old days of Minecraft alpha when people would make servers for a few friends and build an amazing city. But now it's all about the economy, plugins, and voting.

Servers have gone from the amazing experience of meeting new people, mining together and sharing the masterpieces that we have created! Now it's showing off how much in game server money you have, and how big the house is that you could only build because you donated and were only able to use those blocks because of that.

This may scare you and make you realize the changes that are happening, but that is not the least of how shady this Minecraft server market has gone. As some of you may have noticed by many Minecraft servers, they all run on donations. Some servers are still on the honesty system, where they let you donate if you enjoyed the server. But the darker of the server make you donate for essential parts of the game, just so they can suck you dry on funds and keep the server owners loaded on money.

Now to the scary part, as you may know, it has been turned into a Minecraft server Mafia out there... Server owners are paying people under the table to take down the competition with DDoS attacks. Server owners are teaming up so they can cut the costs, by sharing the VPS's they use (The dedicated servers they pay large amounts of money for) and website hosting. Making them more money to take down to competition, so we can only join their server in the end, making them more and more money. So server owners, are using us as currency.

In my own opinion (Author Jake McIlravey) as a server owner. A lot of the more famous servers are more popular because they ran on donations for the first stages, and a majority of them hire some people to work with the plugins and permissions and make bullet proof systems that make maintenance of the server and having staff on the server obsolete. Basically leaving them with a money funnel from the donation system collecting money, paying for the hosting, and pocketing the rest. A lot of the less popular servers (and as less popular I mean less players) they are really great! You get a wide vast of commands, blocks, and places to build, with no real push to donate to the server, because your having all the fun you can get! But the problem with this is, and I will get into details, Minecraft servers aren't very small applications to run, and can create some problems for hosting services. So hosting doesn't come at the smallest hosting price. Putting the pieces together here, you see how server admins running the less popular but really fun servers aren't making any money, since there is really no real push to donate; thus pointing to the hosting and/or website hosting bills piling up, and the server owner having the shut down the server.

I really think this Server Algorithm that has formed for the new Minecraft server community is really twisted. I really miss the old days of playing with a few friends and splitting the server costs. Tell me what you think in the comments if you want to.

Good old Minecraft days. Disappearing slowly into time.

Bad News Google - Ad Blocker Edition

Well we are back with another Bad News Google article. According to some blog rumors, Google has started deleting ad blocking apps on the Google Play store. But, we usually don't post rumours, but in this case, we have seen Google Ad Blocking ads go down quite a lot lately. Although Google has not said anything regarding this issue, besides them admitting that they are doing it, it's quite obvious to most of us why they are doing it.
Here's why for the people that don't know:
Most of the advertisements that people are blocking with ad blockers these days are Google's advertisements, and at the end of the day, that's where most of Google's money comes from. To add on, Google probably doesn't mind that people use adblocking tools, but the fact that they are hosting it on their own store for devices that they invented/ contributed to. So in a sense, they are paying to lose money; they have to pay for the servers supplying the download for the app, and to store the data of that app in your Google Account, just so you can block their advertisements, thus losing them more money. If you still don't understand why Google would do something like this; picture this: let's say you own a small eatery on the side of the road, and you have a sign advertising where your place is, but people find it annoying, and build over top of it. As well as you paying for the materials that build over your sign. This will then make you lose customers (no advertising) and start to lose money. Which is why Google is pushing away advertisement blocking tools.

We hope that this post helps out with a few questions you have had.

Minecraft 1.5 Update

Hello everyone! It's that time. The latest and greatest in the gaming, and tech industry! Let's get into it!

Minecraft straight off the bat and nothing else!
1.5 Update hit today

YES! The picture says it all. Minecraft FINALLY updated to 1.5! An insane amount of bug fixes, light sensors, new quarts ore that only spawns in the nether, an a assortment of blocks that can be made of the new quartz ore, redstone block; which is the first movable block to put out a redstone current, new redstone comparator, which brings the redstone geniuses to they knees because of the new possibilities. A hopper which can catch and move blocks from pretty much anything that can store them, a new dropper block that is similar to dispensers, but instead of deploying the item, (Like shooting arrows, potions, and fireballs) they simply drop them on the ground for the user to take. Another feature of the update is the trapped chest, which we will talk about after this new feature list. Another very useful tool of the new update is the weighted pressure plate; these two new items will output a stronger and more powerful redstone output as more and more items are put onto the pressure plate! One pressure plate can hold a bunch more items than the other, outputting a smaller amount of redstone current. This update also includes new commands, including the /scoreboard and /effect which we will go into later.
TNT minecarts and activator rails have also been added! TNT minecarts will roll down your track and wont explode until you run them over a powered activator rail, the TNT will have it's regular tick delay after hitting the activator rail, then BOOM, the TNT blows up, great for tricking your friends! Also a quick note, the TNT Minecraft will not break the rails it came in on! Which is very handy when you want to keep your tracks! As well, you can now make trapped chests! They act as normal as a regular chest, but they output a redstone current out any side of it according to how many people are looking into the chest. If you don't know what we mean when we say, it reacts to how many people are looking into the chest, read into the details later in this article. And finally, you can now NAME your containers and pets; and by pets I mean animals and mobs! You can use any storage device in an anvil before you place it, which means when you place it and open it up, instead of seeing "Chest" or "Ender Chest" on the top of the screen you will see the custom text that you renamed it as! As for mobs, you can now name the spawn eggs before you actually place the mob, and it will give them a nameplate over their head, similar to how the multiplayer nameplate system works in multiplayer! You can now name your pets in game and actually remember them!
Well that's it for this update, if you would like to see all of these features and some of the major bug fixes, please see the video below, which explains everything... While singing. NOTE: While I was watching the video, I forgot the feature of having better death messages, go kill your friends in game and check them out! :)

The 1.5 Song!

Now into the details:

The redstone comparator adds a whole new spectrum of redstone signals to the game. Instead of the default on or off state, it now included signals 1-15. You can now use the comparator to do Math with command blocks, or even tell when someone is using a trapped chest! Too many things to see for this one. This will definitely make Sethbling happy!

Light Sensors don't have much explaining to them. They do exactly what you think they do. They sense light. With the new outputting of between 1-15 redstone currents, this light sensor will output a certain amount of current based on the time of day.

Trapped Chest are the new chests in town for adventure maps. These chests will (when opened) output a redstone current based on how many players are accessing it. The more players in the chest = the more current put out. This new chest does in fact, have an obvious red ring around the hinge/ lock, so watch out for them. They are bound to be set up with some traps.

/Scoreboard is an amazing new command added to the game! This will let you create certain variables for "objectives" in the game. You can set objectives of health, player kill count, mob and player kill count, and more! You can create an in-game GUI interface where you can see all the variables set above. Also, you can create teams, for say, a team death match adventure map. Teams offer coloured names, prefixes and suffixes, and many little perks like being able to see your invisible team mates! This only a tiny portion of what this command can really do. Check out this link for more scoreboard information and commands.

Our opinion of this update:
We really think that this update was a true redstone update, with that said, it is really more pointed to an adventure map update! Which we personally LOVE! Scoreboard can count player kills for pvp maps or  survival games, as well as the teams feature. And the new comparators and redstone blocks make for some very tricky puzzles in maps. So we are truly excited about this update!

The Mojam Results!

Hey everyone, I just thought I would share the results of the Mojam, Mojang results on how much they raised and what it was about. Since people were asking me on Twitter.

The Mojam was a group of indie game developers that got together and started making games in a timeframe! They made a few games in this awesome Mojam pack! The way it worked was that people would donate any amount of money they wanted that would go to local charities that would raise money for charities that helped people get games and toys for children!

So heres what's up:

"Last week, Mojang worked alongside a number of indie developers for their annual Humble Bundle Mojam event, with the promise of shaving Markus "Notch" Persson's beard (The Maker of Minecraft) in the event they raised more than $500,000.  Well, they surpassed their goal, and Notch has shaved his beard!!!

My Opinion on Computer Programming Schools

Hey,

I really think that computer programming schools should include some papers that tell you what classes you have to take in order to actually get accepted. I have been looking for at least 2 weeks trying to find an awesome computer programming school to go to, but they all have no requirements listed. Am I not looking hard enough!?
Enough of that.

And when you actually get in, they shaft you and treat you like your stupid and don't know anything about code. I didn't come here for nothing. Teach me things I don't know and stop treating me like a 4 year old. I guess one of the big problems here is because of the bigger classes and not enough money for advanced computers, so they have to bunched students up.

So yeah. Sorry for the small post, but, I really needed to get that out but didn't want to work on the actual post. Plenty of posts to come.
